A Little Birthday Gift From Me to You: Thankful Days

Today is my birthday, and instead of asking for presents, I thought it would be much more fun to give one! 🎁

Recently in one of the daily Scrapbook Society Coffee Conversation posts, a member mentioned how much she enjoyed looking back at her Gratitude Album she had created based on the Thankful Days Project Guide that I developed back in 2018. I thought that it would be an especially meaningful project to share with you because, when I think about this little scrapbooking community that has grown around me over the years, thankful is exactly how I feel.

I’m thankful that I get to continue doing something I love, but even more than that, I’m thankful for all of you who continue to show up to scrapbook with me. Whether you’ve been following along for years or you’ve only recently found 1-2-3 Scrapbook with Noreen, I’m so grateful that you’re here. So, THANK YOU! ♥️

I also know that many people create gratitude journals or albums in October and November, so choosing this project to share with you feels especially timely. I’ve pulled the Thankful Days Project Guide out of the archives and added it to my Free Resource Library as my birthday gift to you!

31 Days to Notice What You're Thankful For

Thankful Days is a mini album project built around 31 simple gratitude prompts designed to help you notice and document the people, places, experiences and little everyday things that make life special. I'll share a few of my finished pages throughout this post to give you an idea of the everyday photos I used...

You could use the 31 prompts throughout October to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, use 30 prompts in November for U.S. Thanksgiving, or choose whichever prompts work to help document the good things you notice and are thankful for in your life.

And you certainly don't have to make it complicated. The guide gives you cutting instructions and some layout variations, and then you simply add one or two photos to each page with some journaling.

You could take a photo each day or use photos you already have. You could also use the prompts as inspiration for the stories you want to tell and take pictures that would work with each prompt. As with all of our scrapbooking, the goal isn't to create another project that you have to keep up with perfectly. It's simply to give you a starting point.

Looking back through my own Thankful Days album reminded me how much I love projects like this. Some of the things we are most grateful for aren't necessarily the big events we normally think to scrapbook. They're often the everyday people, routines, places and little comforts that make up our lives, and those stories are worth preserving too.

There's no deadline for using the guide and no requirement to document all 31 prompts. Choose the ones that speak to you, adapt the project to the album format you enjoy using and make it fit the season of life you're in right now.

Because sometimes taking the time to document what we're thankful for helps us notice just how much there is to be thankful for.

And today, I'm especially thankful for all of you.

Thank you for being part of this creative community and for allowing me to continue sharing this hobby that I love. I hope you'll enjoy this little birthday gift from me to you!
