August 1-2-3+ Sketch and Layout

It felt so good to be back creating a 1-2-3+ Sketch and Layout this month! After taking July off while I was busy with Summer MotherLOAD (and a few unexpected adventures along the way!), August's livestream was my first 1-2-3+ since June. I really enjoyed getting back into the familiar routine of choosing my papers, making those three simple cuts and seeing where the layout took me!

If you're new to my 1-2-3+ layouts, each one uses just one piece of double-sided designer paper, two base pages of your choice and three cuts to create a quick two-page scrapbook layout. If you want to level it up, the + Cutting Guide gives you the option of adding an additional piece of paper or cardstock to create photo mats, decorative borders and other details.

Both versions are easy and versatile, so you can decide how simple—or how embellished—you want your layout to be depending on your time, energy and the supplies you're working with.

For August, I decided it was time to change things up! Earlier this year I said I was going to use the Your Own Way collection from Creative Memories for all of my 2026 1-2-3+ layouts, but after six months I was ready for something new! Sometimes changing things up is exactly what we need to spark a little fresh creativity, so I was excited to pull out the beautiful new By the Seashore collection from Creative Memories for this month's layout. The papers, colors and embellishments were such fun to work with and gave me a whole new burst of inspiration for August's 1-2-3+! You'll also note that I've started labeling my layout photos a little differently to distinguish 1-2-3+ layout samples from Sketch Pack layout samples, and to identify products used. Hopefully that will help you!
